Catan Celebrates 25 Years With a Beautiful Anniversary Edition

For many in the lath game hobby, Catan is the game that started their dear for tabletop gaming. Sure, there are plenty of classic games that almost everyone has played. From Monopoly to Battleship, the mass market offerings are plentiful. However, so many of those early games lack the quality lath gamers accept become accustomed to.

Catan is one of those modernistic games that really set the phase for what lath games could be. And now, Catan Studio and Asmodee are launching a 25th Anniversary Edition of the game. Equally y'all'd await, it looks wonderful.

It'south worth noting that, unlike something like the Suburbia Collector's Edition, this isn't some ridiculously overproduced game. Plain, it looks great, but the squad has kept the upgrades relatively simple. The 25th Anniversary Edition includes both the base of operations version of Catan and the 5-6 player expansion. On peak of that, players tin play through the Helpers of Catan scenario. And, while the components aren't totally ridiculous, Asmodee has certainly given you something that will look great on the table.

Players volition enjoy special edition player pieces and dice. Plus, the game comes with some very welcome card tray organizers. As a large Gloomhaven nerd, I'm all near finding ways to make set upward and organization easier. So, seeing these come with the game is phenomenal. They're also including plenty of sleeves and bags to make sure setup and takedown are every bit piece of cake every bit possible. Again, making it easier to get games to the tabular array quickly is e'er a plus in my book.

Catan 25th Anniversary Edition is bachelor for preorder now. The game will run you $lxxx, which isn't inexpensive. That said, I really love how clean everything looks. If you're into good-looking lath games that play well, consider giving this one a look.
